     Bottom line

## Article summary

There is no committee with a budget. This is residents and business owners doing the work themselves, with whatever time they have.

There is no formal organisation behind the Coolock Village Regeneration Project. No registered charity. No board of directors. No paid staff. What exists is a group of people who live or work in the village and got tired of waiting for someone else to act.

## How it actually works

Somebody notices a problem (a broken footpath, a planning application that affects the village, a grant deadline approaching) and flags it in the group. If someone has the time and knowledge to do something about it, they do. If not, it waits until someone does.

That is not a management structure you would find in a textbook, but it is honest. The trade-off is that things move at the speed of volunteers’ spare time, not at the speed of a funded project office.

## What people actually do

The work falls into a few categories:

#### Research and Documentation

Reading the Dublin City Development Plan to identify zoning objectives (Z3 Neighbourhood Centre, CCUV1, CCUV2, CCUV5). Tracking down heritage records (DU015-076). Verifying that everything published on this site is accurate and cite-able.

#### Elected Representatives

The village is in the Artane-Whitehall Local Electoral Area. Six City Councillors cover it (listed on our Contact page ). Keeping them informed and accountable is ongoing work.

#### Grant Applications

The DCC Community Grants Scheme, Crowdfund Dublin City, and SEAI energy routes. Each has its own process, eligibility rules, and deadline. This role keeps project briefs ready, checks source pages before treating a window as open, and follows up.

#### This Website

Built and maintained by volunteers. It is static HTML served via Cloudflare and costs nothing to host. Content is Markdown files anyone can edit. Check our GitHub organisation to get involved.

## Who is not on the team

We are not affiliated with any political party, property developer, or business interest. No councillor directs the project. No developer funds it. The site carries no advertising and no sponsorship.

If that changes, it will be disclosed publicly on this page.

## Getting involved

If you live in Coolock Village or run a business here, you are already qualified. There is no application process. Head to Get Involved or come to the next community event listed on the News and Events page.

The only requirement is that you care about the place. Everything else, we figure out as we go.
