Who We Are
The Coolock Village Regeneration Project is a volunteer-run, community-led initiative for Coolock Village, Dublin 5, Ireland. This website is operated atcoolockvillage.ie.
What We Collect
We collect only what you voluntarily provide:
- Issue reports — category, title, description, a written location or optional coordinates, and optionally your name and email
- Volunteer Signups — name, email, phone (optional), areas of interest, availability
- Idea Submissions — title, description, category, name, email
- Newsletter Subscriptions — email address only
- Contact Form — name, email, message
- User accounts — sign-in email, display name, security credentials such as passkeys, and the account choices you save. If you complete your member profile, this can also include your name, contact email, address, Eircode, phone, social profile links, connection to the village, survey consent, and volunteering interests
We do not use cookies for tracking apps. We use cookie-free, privacy-preserving analytics (Umami) to understand community engagement. This does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) or track you across websites. We do not run advertising scripts.
Search terms entered in site search are sent to the Coolock Village search service so it can return results. They are not added to your public profile. Recent searches shown in the search window are kept in your browser.
If you sign in to view your reports, a session cookie (coolock_session or __Host-coolock_session) is stored in your browser to keep you logged in. This cookie is removed when you log out or when it expires.
How We Use Your Data
- Issue reports are logged for public follow-up and may be shared with the right public service when the evidence is clear
- Volunteer signups are used only to coordinate community activities
- Ideas are reviewed by the project team — never published without your consent
- Newsletter emails are used solely to send community updates
- Account details are used to provide sign-in, security, preferences, membership administration, and the contact choices you request
Data Storage
Data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure, including Workers and D1. All connections use HTTPS. We do not sell or rent personal data. We use the service providers listed below to operate the site and send requested email. Report details may also be shared with the relevant public service when civic follow-up requires it; private contact details are shared only when needed for that follow-up.
Account data is kept until you delete the account or ask us to delete it, subject to records we must retain. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Public-interest submissions may be kept as civic records, with personal contact details removed where appropriate. Session records expire automatically.
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction or deletion
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland)
To exercise any of these rights, emailinfo@coolockvillage.ie.
